The Numbers Behind Our First Year of Operation
Transparency matters. Here is a full breakdown of what AEKE Foundation accomplished in its first year — pairs donated, cities reached, and what comes next.

One year in. Here is exactly what happened.
When we launched AEKE Foundation, we made a commitment to transparency — to share not just our wins but our numbers, our challenges, and our plans. This is our first annual impact report.
THE NUMBERS
847 — pairs of shoes and essentials delivered directly to street sweepers and sanitation workers.
12 — communities reached across Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, and Jos.
89 — active volunteers who gave their time to support our drives.
4 — Nigerian cities where we have an active presence.
100% — of every programme donation went directly to delivery. No admin fees deducted.
WHAT WE LEARNED
Getting shoes to sweepers is not complicated. What is complicated is identifying the right people, building trust with local cooperatives, and ensuring that every delivery is dignified — not a handout, but a recognition of service.
We learned that sweepers do not want pity. They want to be seen as the professionals they are. We have tried to honour that in everything we do.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Year two will see us expand into two new cities, launch our Essentials Drive programme, and begin health and wellness workshops in partnership with local clinics.
Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and partner who made year one possible. The work continues.
